Cheese Shell Tacos

No Tortilla, Cheese-Shell Tacos

Yes, it’s more work. Yes, it’s more delicious! You can make any meat here… I have lots of options I love, but in this video I did shaved beef. T’was delish!

Serves 4.

Ingredients:

  • Bag of shredded mexican blend cheese (the only time I’ll ever tell you to buy preshredded cheese!)

  • 1 lb shaved beef

  • 1 tspn of garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, paprika, salt

  • 1 can of green chiles

  • 1 tspn of honey

  • Avocado oil for searing meat

Toppings:

  • Smashed Avocado

  • Green Onions, Sliced

  • Sweet Onion, Minced

  • Bunch of Cilantro

Instructions:

  1. Mix your meat, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, paprika, salt, honey and green chiles in a bowl.

  2. Medium high heat pan, throw meat and constantly move and stir until fully cooked and separated.

  3. Medium high heat, get pan very hot! In 1/3 cup scoops, pour cheese in the center and use fingers to spread in thin layer. Once edges are brown, use a thing metal spatula to carve under shell and flip over and press. Sear until equally as golden brown.

  4. Lay down a paper towel. Use the end of a wooden spoon(or rolling pin!) to immediately after taking off the heat, fold your taco shell over in desired shape. Allow it to cool completely.

  5. Repeat until you have enough to satisfy(I recommend 2 a person) then throw on your favorite toppings.
